Passenger service returns to the Mankato Regional Airport
Landline’s inaugural trip departed from the Mankato Regional Airport on June 6, 2019. The company is redefining the regional transportation model at local airports, making it easier for communities to connect to affordable travel.
To mark the occasion, Landline held an open house at Mankato Regional Airport to introduce nonstop bus-to-air service connecting local travelers to the MSP airport. Mankato Mayor Najwa Massad and North Mankato Mayor Mark Dehen spoke at the event. Grow Mankato Grow ambassadors and cavaliers took part in the celebration with a formal ribbon cutting welcoming Landline to the area. Guests enjoyed bus tours, refreshment and witnessed the departure of Landline’s inaugural trip.
Landline offers travelers a comfortable and convenient connection to MSP or a Minneapolis getaway at an affordable price. Nonstop service departs five times daily to and from MSP. Travelers can select the departure/arrival time, standard or fully refundable fare and seat location on the booking tool at landline.com. One-way tickets begin at $9.
Landline’s custom designed motor coaches include onboard amenities like in-seat power, Wi-Fi, leather seats with ample legroom and onboard restrooms. All busses have ADA-compliant lifts and seating.
Co-founders David Sunde and Ben Munson identified Minnesota as the ideal location to launch their business based on their study of enplanement trends at regional airports across the country. “It’s been nearly two decades since an airline served the Mankato area.” said Munson. “We believe the timing is right to bring passenger service back to the community. We hope our approach and partnership with the Mankato airport will be a model for other communities in the Midwest.”
“Our unique service model provides local travelers with friendly, reliable, low-fare bus-to-air transportation to the MSP airport,” said Sunde. “Passengers can also use Landline to spend the day in Minneapolis. Take the light rail at MSP and enjoy a game, concert or day of shopping without the hassle of parking or traffic.”
